Denis Kang Returns At UFC 97

According to MMAWeekly:
Canadian middleweight, Denis Kang, will make his return to the Octagon a little closer to home for his next fight as he will take on UFC newcomer, Xavier Foupa-Pokam, at UFC 97 in Montreal on April 18. The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fighter's camp on Friday.
I don't know much about Pokam, but I do know this is pretty much a do or die fight for Kang at this point. Kang made his UFC debut at UFC 93 losing to Alan Belcher via submission. Many(including) myself thought Kang would win that fight and eventually challenge Anderson Silva. However, Kang gassed after pretty much doing what he wished against Belcher in the first round. Do you still think Kang can make a run through the UFC MW division?

I think Kang might be done...
nearly reaching the pinnacle of anything and then freefalling back to earth can be very depressing, and in a sport where mental well being can be such a huge detriment (e.g. GSP / Serra I, Paulo Filho) I just don’t see Kang recovering. Yet, there is always hope for such a talented fighter.
Good Point
I’m a Kang fan…watching him lose the way he did at UFC 93 sucked….hopefully he can get a couple of wins under his belt and get that confidence back.
