Does Michael Bisping Deserve A Title Shot?

We now know that Michael Bisping will face Dan Henderson after the conclusion of TUF 9. The winner of that fight will supposedly face off against Anderson Silva. Bisping is on a three fight winning streak, albeit those wins are not against top tier competition. Dan Henderson is coming off of a very close win against Rich Franklin, and squeaked by Rousimar Palhares at UFC 88. Henderson hasn't looked impressive in his last 3 bouts(including the loss to Silva). How much weight does beating Henderson hold for Bisping? Does he deserve a shot at Silva with a win over Henderson? If so, what about Okami, Maia or Marquardt? Discuss.

Okami is like Brett Hart and The UFC is Vince McMahon- can you say screw job???
I think Marquardt, Cote or Maia beat Bisping, no doubt, as does Siva easily. I dont think a win over Hendo should give him a shot at the title. Overall I’m not really thrilled about the choice of England for the next season of TUF. They are not really known as a haven for MMA fighters, like say, hmm let me think, oh yeah, BRAZIL!!!! But hey what do I know.

3PA-I agree that Maia should have fought Bisping. However, I understand why they didn’t do it.
Felix-I think Okami deserves a shot, but I must also admit he is pretty painful to watch. I agree the UK vs. US theme is ass water too. lol.

I’m with Felix on all counts. Okami is the true #1 contender at middleweight right now, and I think anyone would be hard-pressed to argue otherwise, unless of course exciting fights get you the shot instead of an 8-1 record in the UFC.
I don’t agree about Henderson not looking impressive though.. it’s unfair to say that he “squeaked” by Palhares, as he actually handeled him with a perfect gameplan. Also, I think he won that fight with Franklin, despite the lone desenter calling a 30-27 for Franklin.
With that said, the only, and I mean ONLY thing that I like about Bisping winning against Henderson is getting to see Anderson Silva wipe the floor with him. Maybe it’ll wipe that smug look, and big talk off of Bisping, because he’s been handed sub-par competition since day one.

Bisping needs to beat two to three LEGIT contenders before fighting Silva.
Marquardt comes to mind. He’d be a great test after Henderson. Maia is about the same spot as Bisping.
I can see Dan Henderson laying on Bisping for two rounds to win a decision.
