Corey Hill Get Well Fund

Gracie Tampa is conducting a Get Well Fund for Corey Hill. As you all know he suffered a broken leg while fighting at the UFC: "Fight For The Troops" event last week. If you have a paypal account you can click here to donate.

Let's break this down into perspective. Corey Hill was making 8K+8K(meaning $8,000 to show and $8,000 to win), and is only fighting 1-2 times per year. That's not a whole lot of money to live off of, and Hill has a wife and 3 children and will be out of action for over a year. Hell, Corey Hill never fighting again is a real possiblity as well. The UFC is picking up the bill for Hill's surgery, and I'm sure they'll help him in other ways. However, as fans that support the sport I think this is a good cause. It's close to Christmas so if you can spare a dollar or two, please help Corey help his family at least have a good Christmas. At the very least, help him and his family buy a couple of meals or something because every little bit helps. I know if I were in his situation I would want all the help I could get. If you don't feel the need to help Corey out then that's fine as well. However, please keep all negative comments to yourself if you are against the idea. Thanks.

"Corey Hill is still in the hospital. He had surgery, they put a plate in his leg. We paid for all that. We covered all those expenses. He’ll go into rehab, we’ll pay for that too."

- Dana White.

Well thats nice.

Also, I posted this on another site…

I think he could fight again in a couple of years.

A friend of mine was run over by a semi. His right leg was severed about 6 inches below the knee. The medics carried his leg separately in a box of dry ice to the hospital. After the complicated surgery that followed, he is now able to walk normally and train and run like he used to. He has lost a little bit of sensation in that leg but has grown used to it.

In Corey’s case, it wasn’t severed. Only the bones (tibia/fibula) broke. He should be able to fight again.

Also look up Henrik Larsson. He is a Swedish Soccer player who broke his leg in similar fashion in 1999. After 8 months of rehab he was not only able to play again, he went on to become one of the most prolific goal scorers ever for his then club, Celtic.

Yea, I heard that interview with Dana earlier this morning on steve cofields spot. Also, another MMA fighter suffered the same injury Hill suffered earlier this year. I suppose a lot of it would be mental if he wanted to fight again. Thinking to himself everytime he threw a kick…“he goes nothing”…or some shit.

If he ever decides to fight again, he needs to come back meatier… 10 pounds of muscle at the very least.

Oh no doubt…shit, he should move up to 170. Nobody there could match up with him there in terms of his height and reach.
