Affliction Can't Win For Losing Part 2

Remember when I wrote about Affliction going up against the Mosley/Margarito fight, and all of the other UFC/WEC related events? Well things just got even more interesting on Golden Boy's side of things. MMAFanhouse has a pretty interesting quote from Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer:

"I don't want to talk about it right now," Schaefer said. "We're still trying to finalize it. The one thing I know for sure is that Antonio Margarito and Sugar Shane Mosley will be fighting on January 24."

That was his response to a question about if they would be promoting BOTH the Mosley/Margarito fight, and the Affliction "Day Of Reckoning" card on the same night. Now, you can read into that quote however you want to read into it. What I get from it is Golden Boy basically treating Affliction like the little kid asking "Are We There Yet" and the parent just keeps driving without answering the question. It would not surprise me at all if this show were cancelled and Affliction never held their second show to be honest. With the fighters they have lined up for that second show(salaries), and the competition they are going up against they will absolutely lose money on the show.
