Phew ….been so busy with work.

Some thoughts about the weigh ins and UFC 90 in general -

Cote looks very motivated. While I won’t stick my neck out and predict a huge upset, I think this fight won’t be the easy “ballet of violence” everyone is saying it will.

Koscheck and Alves looked like they respect each other despite those comments Kos,Diego,Leben etc had made about Thiago’s suspicious muscle development.

I’m excited about the Santos-Werdum fight. Dana said that Werdum looks bigger than hes ever seen him. Perhaps. But at the weigh ins, he looked fat. Theres a difference between muscle and lard. I don’t see any significant muscle that Werdum has added to that frame. Seems more like hes been making one too many trips to his local Dairy Queen. Dos Santos on the other hand is pure muscle. He also showed impressive hand speed in that vlog. I’m hoping for a good debut from this guy.

Tyson Griffin and Sherk look equally muscular. Sherk keeps getting booed at every fight and weigh in. Thats ridiculous. He isn’t the first fighter to be on juice and certainly won’t be the last.

I hope we get to watch the Aurelio / Franca fight…not just because of the bad blood between the two; I find it to be a compelling fight regardless.

Disappointing event overall don’t you think? the main event was boring. Climenti-Maynard was boring.

3 positives from the event for me where -

Thiago Alves – The fact that he made weight and lasted 3 rounds is impressive. And he controlled all 3 rounds as well.

Dos Santos – The UFC Heavyweight division keeps getting better.

Sherk – Good comeback after that GSP loss. Tyson is a very tricky opponent to go up against after a rather brutal loss.

____

But man, that loss really fucked Werdum’s career. He was talking title shot not so long ago; instead he gets ktfo by a newcomer. And I don’t see who he can beat. Carwin,Velasquez, Kongo, Gonzaga, Mir, Nog, Lesnar and of course Couture should all beat him.

Yea, tha loss is big in terms of him ever fighting for the title.
