Who's Next For Nate Diaz?

Nate Diaz has blazed a trail through his UFC opponents and has constantly asked to face quality competition. After beating a very game Josh Neer at last night's Ultimate Fight Night 15, who should be next in line to face the charismatic LW?

I think the perfect opponent for Nate Diaz at this very moment is Hermes Franca. Franca is the former #1 LW contender and holds a submission victory over Diaz. The two combatants fought back in 2006 at WEC 24 "Full Force" in a spirited bout. Franca is coming off a decision loss to New Jersey's Frankie Edgar and would continue that step up in competition that Diaz seeks each and every fight. Franca is scheduled to fight Gleison Tibau at UFC 90, but this is a match that could and should be made at some point.

Who would you like to see Diaz face next?

They could go with someone like Spencer Fisher, good striker that would definitely box with Nate…hmmm, like you said, Franca maybe…I wouldn’t even mind seeing Nate against Gray Maynard, I think that would be somewhat interesting.

I’d like to see how he does against Joe Lauzon.

Yes i would definatly like to see him face a game opponent like hermes franca , that sounds like it would be a great test for nate and i think he would get to showcase his boxing skills. Also get that loss back off his record, i also like the way he doesnt blow his wad on his punches he throws lots but not heavy and it looks great he isnt doin much damage but you know he is scoring points.

The best fight I could see happening for a lot of different reasons is Diaz vs Huerta. Diaz is 1 big fight away from becoming more than just the kid who won TUF. Huerta is coming off a loss where he was overwhelmed from bell to bell.

I really like the Huerta suggestion.

That would be an awesome choice and probably an awesome fight. I’m all for that fight.
